A big thank you to UP Health System, the presenters and to Janell Larson, Market Director of Marketing & Communications, for making this a special day for the students. Yesterday, our 8th grade students participated in our 2nd Annual Career Fair. Students first started with completing something called an Educational Development Plan that helps develop a career interest inventory, along with personality surveys, and career growth insights. We invited several businesses from the area to help students gain a broader insight to what may available to them as adults. Students met with Tia Trudgeon from TV6, Mike Smith from UP Construction Council, Ian Hutchens from Eagle Mine, Jessica Mariin owner of Fresh Coast Beauty, Tyler McCabe from Teaching Family Homes, Caitlin Ott and Ben Travis from MIDNR; our very own Ms. Delpier was able to stand in for a guest who was unable to attend, with a similar education background. Our students were attentive, extremely respectful, and engaged; our guests were happy with the questions asked and said the students were wonderful.
